Country Pop singer/songwriter Levi Hummon releases 36/86 Side B EP today, April 23 on all digital platforms. Two additional songs “Freaking Out,” (Levi Hummon and Forrest Finn) and “American Dream Girl,” (Hummon, Finn and Josh Dorr) compliments the well-received 36/83 Side A that offered two singles in mid-March. The 36/86 EP title represents the longitude and latitude of Nashville, Tennessee, Levi’s hometown, and it will feature 4 new songs, as well as, his streaming hits “Wedding Dress” and “Good Taste” which earned prized spots on numerous editorial playlists on DSPs, including Spotify’s all-genre “New Music Friday.” The project is meant to be a cohesive representation of Levi as a songwriter, with each song tapping a little into his many influences.
Hummon is excited to debut his new songs on the Grand Ole Opry next Friday (April 30th) and has this to say about his 2 new songs:
“Freaking Out”
“I had just met my girlfriend when I wrote this song and it’s legitimately about everything I was feeling after those first few weeks of meeting her. I knew I was freaking out and was just so scared to mess anything up. I wanted to turn that idea into a fun and uplifting song that felt like the Lumineers meets country music, and I think we really accomplished that. It feels just like good for the soul music and is a perfect piece to the EP.”
“American Dream Girl”
“I had been saving this one really “John Mayer”-y guitar melody for forever and never had a title that matched it. When I thought of the title “American Dream Girl” it was just the perfect guitar riff to go along with this dreamscape of an all-American love story. This song reminds me of my grandparents, and just makes me think of the simpler things in life, like getting to spend it with the woman you love.”
