Preeminent modern hymn writers Keith and Kristyn Getty of Getty Music, have been nominated for GMA's "Inspirational Album of the Year" - CAT 25 for The North Coast Sessions, which includes hymns and songs inspired, in part, by the book of Psalms. Producers are Fionan de Barra, Keith Getty and Kristyn Getty. The 50th anniversary of the Dove Awards will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on October 15 and will air October 20 on the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN).
“North Coast Sessions,” was recorded on Northern Ireland’s stunning coastline and is the first studio recording the Getty’s have released since 2016. It features songs such as “I Will Wait for You” based on Psalm 130; “The Lord Is My Shepherd” based on Psalm 23; and “I Lift My Eyes” based on Psalm 121.
The Gettys' are on their first global arena tour that launched a few months ago at the Belfast SSE Arena in their hometown of Belfast, Northern Ireland as part of the annual Getty Music Worship Conference: Sing! 2019. The grandiose production features performances from Keith and Kristyn, alongside a 1000 voice choir and band of virtuosic instrumentalists. The arena events are set in-the-round and will see a fusion of Celtic, Bluegrass, Americana, Modern and Classical music along with cultural dance, and will also include a special message from best-selling author John Piper.
This weekend Music City USA hosts the Getty Music Worship Conference: Sing! 2019 with Nashville Hymn Sing, including special guests Natalie Grant, Ricky Skaggs and Selah, at the Grand Ole Opry House on Sunday, August 18 and then Tuesday, August 20 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena with the 1000 voices of the Sing! National City Choir.
