After hitting the top of the charts on iTunes, John Rich and Greg Gutfeld have reached No. 1 on Billboard's Country Digital Song Sales chart with their nonpartisan tune, "Shut Up About Politics." Moving from the No. 4 position last week, "Shut Up About Politics" has risen the ranks and can be found in the Top 20 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart as well as onBillboard's Hot 100.
As seen in Billboard's Chart Beat article, "John Rich & Fox News' The Five Hit Hot 100 With 'Shut Up About Politics,'" pubished on June 10, 2019, Gary Trust writes that this is Rich's first No. 1 in his solo visit to the charts with an estimated 33,000 downloads sold. His first solo Hot 100 visit being in March 2009 when "Shuttin' Down Detroit" reached No. 75.
John shares, "I think the message of the song is ringing in loud and clear in that Americans want us all to shut up about politics!" Lyrics include:
