CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 6, 2016 – SUP magazine is pleased to announce the second annual Pacific Paddle Games presented by Salt Life will offer a groundbreaking $60,000 prize purse. With an increase of $5,000 from the inaugural event in 2015, it continues to be the largest prize money offered in the sport of paddling and is only possible thanks to the generous support of presenting sponsor Salt Life and co-sponsors GoPro, West Marine, Golden Road Brewing, Nexen Tire and California State Parks. The Pacific Paddle Games, which will hit Doheny State Beach, a California State Park in Dana Point, Sept 30 through Oct. 2, also has expanded to three full days of competition.
The preeminent SUP event will draw the world’s best professional SUP racers from around the world. However, in addition to the Pro category, the event will also offer divisions for Open, Pro Junior, Youth, and Prone paddlers. Registration is open at http://ppg.supthemag.com/registration with deadlines to enter quickly approaching on Sept. 16th for Pros and Sept. 23 for Open. THERE WILL BE NO ONSITE BEACH REGISTRATION. First 100 paddlers to register will get a Salt Life towel and all Open registrations in before Sept. 9 will be entered to win a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses.
